Google’s New Algorithm Update: “Page Experience”

As being a Digital Marketing consultant, I help brands shine in the digital zone, and the most often question I receive every week is on how to increase their online sales. Obviously, this does not rely to only one fact, but I can say that the main key is to respect your customers enough to value their experience with you.

As Google announced earlier this year, Google is releasing a new algorithm update called “Page Experience”.

In Google’s own words, here is what it means:

The page experience signal measures aspects of how users perceive the experience of interacting with a web page. Optimizing for these factors makes the web more delightful for users across all web browsers and surfaces, and helps sites evolve towards user expectations on mobile. We believe this will contribute to business success on the web as users grow more engaged and can transact with less friction.

This means that if Google thinks that you have a weak page experience for your users, it will not rank those pages which it does right now.

Google’s main aim is now to provide some relief to the audience. Relevancy and providing the visitor what she wants is now the game. Gone are the days when directories and forum submission for backlinks were the key aspects of SEO.

Google is updating each and every day to make the user searches more easy and valuable. I think so this page experience update in next year will make a huge impact in user experience as well as the brand also to grow their business.

This means that we need to empathize with all users who lands on our websites.

At my Brand / Digital marketing consulting work, when we look at my clients and their growth over time, only 10% have large well-known brands. The other 90% are startups and new brands. It doesn’t matter if you are “big brand” anymore, it’s all about playing the game right. Plus, this means that when setting marketing strategies, considering the needs of the target audience instead of our own pleasure, is getting more important than ever.

As a result, if your audience is happy, then Google is happy. If Google is happy, you get more traffic and more sales.
